What is The Ridge?
The Ridge is the National University of Singapore’s dedicated on-campus
accommodation facility, purpose-built to support academic, research, executive
education, and professional engagements in a seamless campus environment.
Who can stay at The Ridge?
Accommodation at The Ridge is reserved for NUS-affiliated guests, including
overseas academic visitors, research collaborators, executive programme
participants, and conference delegates invited by NUS Faculties, Schools,
Departments, or University offices. The Ridge is not open for bookings by public,
tourists and students.

What is The Ridge’s address?
The Ridge is located at 17 Computing Drive, Singapore 119881.
How long does it take to travel to The Ridge from the airport?
From Singapore Changi Airport, travel time to The Ridge is approximately:
- By taxi or ride-hailing: ~30 minutes (subject to traffic and weather)
- By MRT and bus: ~2 hours
What is the nearest MRT station to The Ridge?
The nearest MRT station is Kent Ridge MRT. From there, you may take the NUS Internal Shuttle Bus (ISB) to COM 3, which is the nearest bus stop to The Ridge.
What is the nearest NUS Internal Shuttle Bus stop to The Ridge?
The nearest NUS ISB stop is COM 3. Our Front Desk will be happy to provide walking directions if needed.
How do I get to The Ridge?
You may arrive by taxi or ride-hailing services directly to the NUS Kent Ridge campus. The campus is also accessible via MRT (Kent Ridge Station), followed by a short shuttle ride. Directions are available via campus map through uNivUS app.
How can I view NUS Internal Shuttle Bus timings and directions?
You may check the latest shuttle bus timings and routes using the uNivUS app, which features the NUS NextBus widget for real-time updates and directions.

Does The Ridge provide airport transfers?
As of the moment, The Ridge does not provide complimentary shuttle services or airport transfers.
Arrival, Check-In & Departure
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in: From 3:00 PM
Check-out: By 12:00 PM
Early check-in and late check-out may be requested in advance and are subject to availability and prevailing charges.
What is required for check- in?
All guests are required to present a valid government-issued photo identification (passport or NRIC) and a proof of affiliation with NUS (e.g., invitation letter, faculty email, event registration) at check-in.
The name on the identification must match the booking details.
Guest must be at least 18 years of age and present at check-in.
Is the Front Desk open 24 hours?
Yes. Our Front Desk operates 24/7 to assist with check-in, enquiries, transport arrangements, and guest support.
Rooms & Housekeeping
What amenities are provided in the rooms?
Rooms are designed for comfort and productivity and typically include modern furnishings, a work desk, complimentary Wi-Fi, climate control, and a private bathroom with amenities.
Is the filtered water in the room safe to drink?
Yes. The filtered water provided in guest rooms is safe for drinking. This is part of The Ridge’s sustainability initiative to reduce single-use plastic bottles.
What pin plug and voltage are used in the rooms?
The standard electrical supply in Singapore is 230 volts AC. Guest rooms at The Ridge are equipped with universal power socket outlets, suitable for most international plugs.
Are the rooms non-smoking?
Yes. The Ridge is a non-smoking facility. Smoking is strictly prohibited in all guest rooms and indoor areas. A cleaning fee of $300.00SGD will be imposed if evidence of smoking is found.
Is housekeeping provided?
Yes. Regular housekeeping services are provided. In line with our sustainability commitment, linen and towel changes follow an eco-friendly schedule, with additional services available upon request.
Are there accessible rooms available?
Yes. The Ridge offers accessible rooms and step-free access within the property. Please inform us of your requirements in advance so appropriate arrangements can be made.
Does The Ridge have connecting rooms?
Yes, the hotel has connecting rooms which are subject to availability.
Can I add an extra bed? Is there any additional charge?
Extra beds are not available at The Ridge. Our rooms are designed to accommodate the maximum occupancy as indicated at the time of booking.
Can I request for a baby cot? Is there any additional charge?
Baby cots are available subject to availability. Guests are kindly advised to inform us in advance during the reservation process or prior to arrival. There is no additional charge for the use of a baby cot.
Is there laundry service available?
Laundry and Dry Cleaning services are available for all in-house guests. Please note that there will be applicable charges. All rooms will have a laundry bag and a copy of the laundry charges for your information and usage.
- Please drop your laundry off, along with your completed Laundry and Drycleaning List, at the Front Desk between 11 am to 4 pm.
- A text message will be sent to your mobile phone when your laundry is ready for collection.
- Payment by cash or credit card should be made upon collection of your laundry at our Concierge desk.
Internet & Connectivity
Is Wi-Fi available?
Yes. Complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi is available in all guest rooms and throughout The Ridge. Simply select the “NUS_Guest” network and follow the on-screen login instructions.
Dining & On-Site Facilities
Where is breakfast served?
An international breakfast buffet is served at Café on The Ridge, located at Level 1 of NUSS Guild House, between 0700hrs – 1030hrs.
What facilities are available at The Ridge?
Guests may enjoy access to the following facilities:
- 50-metre swimming pool at NUSS Guild House
- Fully equipped fitness centre at NUSS Guild House
- Outdoor deck
- Open communal guest lounges
Is there a meeting room at The Ridge?
Yes. In-house guests may book The Nest, the dedicated meeting room at The Ridge. Advance booking is required and is subject to availability and applicable charges.
Dining & Campus Amenities
Are there dining options inside The Ridge?
Yes. A café is located on Level 1 of The Ridge, offering light bites and refreshments for guests.
Are there dining options nearby?
Yes. NUS offers a wide variety of cafés, food courts, restaurants, and convenience outlets within walking distance or a short shuttle ride from The Ridge.
Are meeting or collaboration spaces available nearby?
Yes. Meeting and collaboration spaces are available within The Ridge or in nearby campus facilities such as NUSS and SFAH. Please check with your host or the Front Desk for booking arrangements.
Parking & Transport
Is there car parking available at The Ridge?
The nearest parking facility is Carpark 15 (Opposite NUSS), which is conveniently located within walking distance of The Ridge.
Luggage, Deliveries & Storage
Can I store my luggage before check-in or after check-out?
Yes. Luggage storage is available at the Front Desk, subject to space and security policies.
Can I receive parcels or deliveries during my stay?
Yes. Please ensure parcels are clearly labelled with your full name and stay dates. Storage is subject to property policies.
What is The Ridge’s Lost & Found policy?
For any lost or misplaced items in the property, please inform any of our staff, contact The Ridge’s main line at +65 6601 1717 or email us at theridge@nus.edu.sg
Please collect your items within the stipulated time frame stated below:
- Non-perishable items will be retained for 90 days from the date it was found
- Perishable items will be discarded immediately
- Medical oral prescription will be kept for a week from the date it was found.
Subject to the value of the items unclaimed by end of the 60-day retention period, the item will be disposed or handed over to the police.
Length of Stay & Extensions
Is The Ridge suitable for long stays?
Yes. The Ridge supports both short and long stays of up to 30 days for academic and professional visitors. Stay extensions are subject to availability and must be arranged through your booking channel or the Front Desk.
Can I extend my stay?
Extensions are subject to availability and approval. Please contact your NUS host, organiser, or the Front Desk as early as possible.
Payments, Charges and Billing
What payment types are accepted in the hotel?
Accepted modes of payments include all major credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, American Express) and Cash

What is The Ridge’s cancellation policy?
The cancellation policy is subject to the terms and conditions at the point of the booking.

Are pets allowed?
No. Pets are not permitted within The Ridge.
Are visitors allowed?
Yes. Visitors are permitted, but are required to depart the premises by 11:00 PM.
Are durians allowed in the property?
For the comfort of all guests, durians and other strong-smelling food items are not permitted within guest rooms and indoor areas of The Ridge.
